ASPEN MEADOWS PACK STATION
PINECREST HUB--BICYCLE RENTALS ETC
Rents bicycles, small wagons, child's backpacks. Wide variety of child, adult, and tandem bicycles and trailers. Helmets included. Closed in winter.
BOAT LAUNCHING RAMP--BEARDSLEY RESERVOIR
Photo shows entance to launching ramp, a little hidden. Fishing, water skiing.
DODGE RIDGE SKI AREA
Downhill skiing and snowboarding in an 832 acre area, with 59 runs and 8 lifts. Snowplay area for young children Restaurants and bar. Ski/snowboard rentals and lessons for adults and children. Sports shop with equipment, clothing, and equipment repairs.
Dock for fishing from shore.
HEIDI'S SKI AND PADDLE SHOP
Ski, snowboard, and snowshoe rentals. Services: Hot wax, Iron on wax, overnight tune ups. Also has paddle board rentals in summer.
LELAND HIGH SIERRA SNOWPLAY
Area for playing in the snow with sleds, saucers, toboggans and the like. Elevation is 6300 feet. Tows up the hill. Open from "first snow fall" to mid-April. Snack bar.
PINECREST LAKE MARINA
Rents motor boats for fishing, paddle boats, kayaks, sailboats, and party boats. Next to marina is boat launching ramp (no jet skis or water skiing allowed). Marina open only in summer, typically May to first week in October.
Outdoor amphitheatre has movies in summer. Low-cost tickets, children 3 and under free. Shows typically start at 8:30 pm. Movies are not new releases but typically older favorites, with many appealing to kids. Also has ranger programs.
PINECREST LOOP TRAIL
Fairly easy trail that goes all the way around the lake. Formally known as the "Pinecrest Lake National Recreation Trail". No bicycles, dogs must be on leash. No restrooms available. Pack out any garbage.
SNO PARK ACCESS POINT
The Sno Park access point includes two parking lots and rest rooms. When finally closed for the winter, Highway 108 above the closure point becomes a trail groomed for snowmobiles. Primary use is snowmobiles, also cross-country skiing and "limited snow play". A permit is required from November 1 to May 30. Permit allows parking at the access point. Fee: $5/day or $25/yr. Limit of 3 nights for parking. Permits available at Cold Springs Market, Strawberry Store, Sonny's in Sierra Village.
SOUTH TRAILHEAD OF SUGAR PINE TRAIL-STRAWBERRY BR.
This is the southern end of the Strawberry Branch of the Sugar Pine Trail. The northern end is south of Strawberry (we haven't added that to our Strawberry map yet). This trail was once the route of the Sugar Pine Railway, built to transport logs from the forest to the sawmill in Standard.
