ASPEN MEADOWS PACK STATION.
Beardsley Dam is 3 miles downstream from Donnell Reservoir on the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River. Elevation is 3,392 feet, way down from Highway 108. Storage capacity is 34,290, slightly more than Donnell. Outflow of dam is 143 cubic feet/second.

DODGE RIDGE SKI AREA.

FRASER FLAT CAMPGROUND.
US Forest Service campground. 38 campsites, most with tables and grills. No reservations--first come, first served. Open May-October. Near fishing on the south fork of the Stanislaus River. Fees: $15/site/day, $5/day for extra vehicle. HOURS: Mon 2am-3am, Tues-Sun midnightam-midnightam.

LELAND HIGH SIERRA SNOWPLAY.
Area for playing in the snow with sleds, saucers, toboggans and the like. Elevation is 6300 feet. Tows up the hill. Open from "first snow fall" to mid-April. Snack bar. 209 965-4719.

PINECREST RESORT RENTAL OFFICE.
Lodging includes motel rooms (queen sized beds, bathroom, daily maid service), 2 or 3 bedroom cabins (kitchen, linens & towels provided), and 2 or 3 bedroom townhouses (kitchen, propane fireplace, linens & towels provided). All have cable TV. Pinecrest Lake Rd, Pinecrest , CA 95364. 209 965-3411.
PINECREST LAKE MARINA.
Rents motor boats for fishing, paddle boats, kayaks, sailboats, and party boats. Next to marina is boat launching ramp (no jet skis or water skiing allowed). Marina open only in summer, typically May to first week in October. 31 Lakeshore Dr, Pinecrest. 209 965-3333.

Outdoor amphitheatre has movies in summer. Low-cost tickets, children 3 and under free. Shows typically start at 8:30 pm. Movies are not new releases but typically older favorites, with many appealing to kids. Also has ranger programs.

Rentals vary from cottages without kitchens to "Mini Chalets" that are one room with a kitchen to 2-4 bedroom cabins and townhomes. PINECREST LOOP TRAIL.
Fairly easy trail that goes all the way around the lake. Formally known as the "Pinecrest Lake National Recreation Trail". No bicycles, dogs must be on leash. No restrooms available. Pack out any garbage.

PIONEER TRAIL GROUP CAMPGROUND.
US Forest Service group campground in summer, general campground in winter. This is the only campground open in winter in the Pinecrest area. No water in winter and vault toilets. No cost for less than 20 people in winter. Dodge Ridge Rd, Pinecrest. 209 965-3474.

Post office with typical services, including Express Mail. The zip code is 95364. There is also a mailbox next to the Cold Springs Market.

SNO PARK ACCESS POINT.
The Sno Park access point includes two parking lots and rest rooms. When finally closed for the winter, Highway 108 above the closure point becomes a trail groomed for snowmobiles. Primary use is snowmobiles, also cross-country skiing and "limited snow play". A permit is required from November 1 to May 30. Permit allows parking at the access point. Fee: $5/day or $25/yr. Strawberry Dam was built in 1916, at a time when the lake was known as "Strawberry Lake". The name was changed to "Pinecrest Lake" a few years later. The dam is on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River. Elevation is 5600 feet. The lake is 300 acres in the summer when full. During the winter the lake recedes to a very small size.

SOUTH TRAILHEAD OF SUGAR PINE TRAIL-STRAWBERRY BR..
This is the southern end of the Strawberry Branch of the Sugar Pine Trail. The northern end is south of Strawberry (we haven't added that to our Strawberry map yet). This trail was once the route of the Sugar Pine Railway, built to transport logs from the forest to the sawmill in Standard.
SHADOW OF THE MIWOK (TRAIL).
Interpretative trail includes examples of MiWok Indian tepee-like structures, as shown in photo, built of cedar bark. Trail not maintained in winter.
WI-FI AT DODGE RIDGE.
Wi-Fi at the ski resort. The upper levels of the Creekside Lodge and the Family Lodge buildings (where the restaurants are) seem to be the best places to receive the signal. ID is "Public-Wifi". No password required.
WI FI AT THE STRAWBERRY INN RESTAURANT.

WINTER CLOSURE POINT.
This is the final winter closure point on the western side of Sonora Pass. Around November and December, and again around April and May, the highway may be closed at different points above this point depending upon weather. When winter fully sets in, the highway is closed here until spring.
